Our seaside holiday cottages are very popular with families during the school holidays but there is something for everyone all year round, particularly sea fishing, birdwatching, beachcombing, sand castle building and fossil hunting!
We also have some of the best dog friendly beaches in Dumfries and Galloway.
With the Nith Estuary at one end of the estate and the open Solway at the other we can cater for all tastes from mussel beds to golden sand flats with shingle, rock pools, fossil beds, cliffs and caves in between!
Powillimount beach at the southern end of the estate is popular with families and renowned for the huge limestone arch known as the Thirlstane.
Walk down onto the shore or drive along the ‘Hidden Coast’ around Colvend also known as the “Scottish Riviera”. Solway Firth beaches at Southerness, Sandyhills, Rockcliffe or Kippford are all within a 15 minute drive.
