Our holiday accommodation is plumb central for the ‘7stanes’ and ideal for cycling holidays in Dumfries and Galloway.
You don’t have to be an experienced mountain biker to enjoy these famous trails: there are a wide range of routes to suit beginners, families and experts. Plus, many of the centres also have skills areas for you to practise your technique.
All seven stanes are within a 2 hour drive of our cycle friendly holiday accommodation: Mabie – 7 miles up the road between New Abbey and Dumfries, and Dalbeattie 8 miles the other way – are the closest of them.
There is also a mountain biking centre at Drumlanrig Castle.
Or, you can just enjoy a gentle cycle around the quiet estate roads …

Did you know?
The bicycle was invented by the estate blacksmith at Capenoch near Penpont in Dumfries and Galloway, and there is a memorial plaque there if you fancy a pilgrimage.
