The House on the Shore Bed and Breakfast Holiday Accomodation
This is our home, and we welcome you to come and experience this magical place for yourselves. The House on the Shore has a unique charm and the most spectacular position, sitting in its own bay looking across the Solway Firth to the mountains of the Lake District beyond. We think it is a very special place.
Every day is different here; one day you could be in the Mediterranean, the next on the wild shores of Cornwall or the west of Ireland.
We offer bed and breakfast accomodation in our extremely comfortable rooms all with their own bathrooms.
Breakfast will be good! The fires will be roaring if the sun is not shining! Prices are £96 per couple per night for B & B or £60 for single occupancy for stays of more than one night. Single night stays are £100 and £65 respectively.
Consider us as a film location, or can you imagine a more idyllic setting for your wedding? We offer the perfect venue for corporate events or almost any occasion!
There is a tennis court here for your use, and riding stables moments away if you enjoy horses. Mountain bikers could be 15 mins away from two of the 7 Stanes.

This is a gardener's paradise. Anything can grow here (as the Peach tree on the wall by the back door shows - every year it produces masses of the most delicious peaches - come at the right time and try some for breakfast!) There are world class gardens to visit nearby.
Maybe you would like come with a group of friends or prepared to make new ones, to one of our activity breaks. Incorporate the 'Spring Fling' with a painting holiday and see why so many artists have found their inspiration here.
Golfers will revel in the fantastic golf courses (Southerness Championship golf course is 10 mins away). Birdwatchers need go no further than the garden (though reserves at Mersehead and Caerlaverock are close by!).
We can provide expertise in these various fields to encourage you, arrange private viewings, transport you there and back, arrange every detail necessary or just leave you to enjoy! You call the tune - come and be inspired!
